Oh it is gorgeous outside!

Between work and my injured kitty, I've not been outside much. Today was my day off from work and I spent most of the day with the cat, tending to her needs. But when my mother came home and was able to keep and eye on her, I took the dogs and my stick and out into the rain we went.

This part of summer is so wonderful. When the leaves are completely out and that new green color, not yet eaten or rust spotted.
It was so pretty this afternoon during the rain. It has been raining off and on during the past weeks. The ground is soft and life has exploded in the woods.
It's been some years since I've seen the streams this full. Not since the summer of all those Hurricanes...
If it can ever pause in raining, my garden will get planted.

But oh today was so beautiful. It was steamy hot and the rain was gentle and kissing. The kind of day that would make you take all your clothes off and disappear into the woods. ^^

I refrained from that urge though. I dove into the waist high wet grass and ran through the fields with my dogs. We played and romped in the puddles and creeks.

And if I could paint, I wish I could have captured the sight of the green lush mountains with the fog rising after the rain....and the huge pastel rainbow that spanned the whole valley.

And the scents! I swear the scent of honeysuckle and ripening hay could make you high!

Now the fog is settling back down, and lacing its way through the trees. Everything is wet, shiny and dripping. The sky is turning a purple pink with the sunset. Frogs are singing and the lightning bugs are starting to flash.

This for me is heaven and I could think of no other place to call Home.
